Description
SN. 400127. Currently has 31-5/8” Chromox Fluid Steel bbl, 2-3/4” chamber, with raised matted ventilated top rib that has twin ivory beads. Left side of bbl engraved “MADE BY A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA. USA”. Sides of bbl with floral scroll engraving. Bbl flat with grade designation, SN and Fox proof stamp. Custom replacement beavertail forend checkered in elongated oval pattern on side and at center, has original engraved Deeley latch release and engraved iron. Receiver with floral scroll in about 60% coverage and engraved “FOX” on sides. Top of receiver with line engraving and floral scroll which extends to the top lever and top tang. Replacement trigger guard is blued with burst of scroll on bow and towards end of tang with border pattern engraving. Custom American Walnut buttstock with checkered side panels and fleur-de-lis, has a Monte Carlo towards butt and terminates with a collapsing Pachmayr white lined ventilated pad. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 5oz. Condition
CONDITION: Very good as heavily used and period refurbished. Bbl with more than 95% of its shiny refurbished blue, engraving has been softened throughout. Custom forend is sound and retains most of its custom finish. Receiver has toned gray with scattered oxidation and engraving lightly worn in a couple of areas. Replacement trigger guard with soft engraving and about 70% of its custom blue. Top tang with screws marred and some pin prick pitting present. Custom buttstock is sound and retains most of its custom finish with scattered light handling marks. Bore is bright and shiny. Mechanics are fine, though gun is a bit loose with the forend off. C&R.
