Description
SN. 26780. Made with 23-5/8”(60cm) steel bbls that have raised quarter-rib fitted for claw mount scope and large white bead atop raised ramp at muzzle. Top of rib engraved “CARABINE DOUBLE EXPRESS CHAPUIS FRANCE” top of left tube lightly engraved “AFRICAN P. H. 30.06”. Small ring of engraving at breech ends. Bottom of bbl flats with SN and proof marks. bottom of right tube engraved “CHADICK’S LTD / TERRELL TX” as importer. Elongated beavertail forend with lightly engraved Deeley latch release and iron is checkered in point pattern. Casehardened scalloped boxlock action with wave border engraving. Blued top lever is border engraved. Gun has bushed strikers, single trigger, auto ejectors and auto safety. Blued engraved long tang trigger guard. Right trigger tang is signed “GRANGER M”. Pistol grip buttstock has engraved steel trapdoor grip cap is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has cheek piece and terminates with a brown Decelerator pad. Condition
CONDITION: Extremely fine to near mint. Retaining nearly all factory original finishes to all wood and metal surfaces with only minor handling marks. Original strike marks remain on breech ends of bbls and water table indicating this gun as very sparsely used. Case is excellent with only minor rub marks. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. MODERN.
