Description
SN. 82973. Made in 1895 24" octagon bbl that has buckhorn adjustable blue rear sight and German silver front blade sight. Gun made with button magazine. Top of bbl with makers information at center and caliber marking at breech end. Uncheckered stocks. Plain finish blued receiver. Casehardened lever and hammer. Top tang with model number, makers name and patent info. Buttstock terminates with its original crescent blued steel butt. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 15oz.
Condition
CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains more than 70% of its plum brown original blue. Receiver with about 65% of its toning original blued. Forend cap with more than 60% of its original blue. Lever with about half of its original light case color. Buttstock and forearm with finish added and some dents steamed up are very good. Rear top tang screw maybe an old replacement and rear sight with some blue added. Buttplate with more than 90% of a properly restored blue finish. Bore is very good with some pitting present. Mechanics are excellent. A very pretty western rifle. ANTIQUE.
