Description
SN. 5711. Cal. 8ga. Made in 1903 this rare Dickson with 30” fluid steel brls, 4” chambers, that have plain concave top rib engraved “DICKSON & SON”. Brls with small ring of breech engraving. The large splinter forend with Anson type push button release is checkered in point pattern with carved lumps on sides. Boxlock receiver is nicely engraved in rose and scroll pattern in about 80% coverage with blued trigger plate. Engraved fences with side clips Blued top lever is scroll engraved as is the top of frame. Blued long tang trigger guard with scroll on bow and tang with SN at center of tang. Gun made with double triggers, extractors, auto-safety. The straight grip Black English Walnut buttstock is beautifully figured with light fiddleback, has unengraved silver oval on toe line, and terminates with a very old Silvers type pad. Gun is housed in a modern brown leather brass appointed case with red felt interior. Case has cleaning accessories. WEIGHT: 11lbs. 11oz. DAC: 1-9/16”. DAH: 2-1/8”. LOP: 14-1/8”.
Condition
Fine as period refurbished. Brls with 97% restored rust blue remaining. Forend and buttstock are excellent as restored with minor handling marks and implores signs. Frame has toned to silver. Trigger plate and trigger guard with more than 95% of their restored blue. Pad is beginning to crystallize. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Case is very good with rubs. Accessories are excellent. What a killer steel barreled 8 bore! C&R.
