Description
SN. 225704. Cal 12ga. Completed in April of 1928 and built on a 1-1/2 frame with 30” Parker Special Steel brls, 2-5/8” chambers, that have matted concave top rib, small brass front bead, and usual rib legend. Brl flats with unstruck brl weight of 4lbs. 1oz. Splinter forearm checkered in diamond pattern with engraved steel tip, Deeley latch release, and iron. Casehardened boxlock receiver engraved with 2 flying ducks on left, 2 pheasants on right in oval surrounded by light scroll. Trigger plate with 2 pheasants in circle. Blued trigger guard with burst of scroll on bow, SN at tang. The nicely figured capped pistol grip walnut buttstock is checkered in 3 point pattern through the wrist, has unengraved silver shield on toeline, and terminates with its original dogs head buttplate. Accompanied by a PGCA research letter describing the gun as found today. WEIGHT: 7lbs. 9oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .031(Both). Bore Diameter: .731(Both). Bore Restriction: .029(Rt) .038(L). Condition
Excellent as lightly field used and appears all original. Brls with about 95% original blue with some thinning towards muzzles. Buttstock and forearm are sound and retain about 95% of their original finish with scattered light handling marks and some light finish added for preservation behind grip. Frame retains about 70% of its original case color with crisp engraving. Trigger guard retains about 35% of its original blue on bow, toned towards tang. Mechanics are excellent Bores are bright and shiny. A very nice clean original Parker. C&R.
