Description
SN. 2743. Cal. 12 ga. Guyot has the reputation of having made truly fine guns, this gun is no exception. The 28-3/8" chopper lump brls, 2-5/8" chambers, are engraved "N. GUYOT ARQer A. PARIS" on raised, matted, concave game rib. It is interesting to note that the brl flats are stamped with London blackpowder proofs only and that this gun is most likely an antique. The number "2" is engraved on the bottom of rear lump, inlaid in gold on top lever and relief silver inlaid on interior of forend iron. (Gun number 2 of a pair). Robust, casehardened boxlock action with blued ornamental sideplates and floor plate, features automatic safety, cross bolt third fastener, side clips and double triggers(front articulated). Action and lockplates are engraved with near full coverage very well done British style rose and scroll. This scroll extends to blued top lever and trigger guard which has SN on tang. Replacement straight grip buttstock of crotch figured American walnut measures 14-3/8" over unfinished wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip, splinter forend with original wood has Deeley ejector info on iron and Anson release. WEIGHT: 6lb. 13oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .026(Rt) .027(L). Very fine with some issues. Brls retaining over 90% original blue. Action with most of its case color, original blue is over 80% on sideplates and floorplate. Good quality replaced buttstock retains most of its oil finish, forend wood shows considerable wear and some chips on edges of wood. Bores are bright and shiny with some very light frosting. Action is tight, right ejector will not fire. Trigger plate screw replaced. C&R.
