Description
SN. 939. Cal. .32-40. Made with 32" brl. Action is a Stevens Pope 54 action with typical non-animal scene engraving found on this model. Action face stamped 54. Fitted with double set triggers and Pope lever. Brl is a full octagon, No. 4 weight marked “Stevens-Pope”. Under the forearm brl is stamped Pope brl number 678 and “21/1.24”. Buttstock is made from very fancy American walnut. Beautifully checkered, correct buttplate. Globe front sight, Stevens- Vernier rear with wind gauge. Scope is a Winchester A5.
Condition
Most case colors on action are present but difficult to see how brilliant because of the engraving. Can be seen on flat surfaces. Brl shows almost all bluing, except for on the sharp edges. Buttstock only shows the most minor of wear. Forearm has some minor rubs and handling marks. Pope lever retains most of its nickel plating. Bore is bright and shiny, sharp throughout. Glass is dirty. C&R.
