Description
SN. 9334. Cal. .32-40. Made with 33-3/4" brl. Case colored action Stevens 44-1/2 action with animal scene engravings with bear on left and deer on right. Face of the action marked “54”. Fitted with double set triggers and correct lever for a 54 Model. Buttstock has a straight grip with lovely checkering, nickel plated Swiss buttplate. Stevens forearm of the two screw design has a plate mounted with the initials “J.C.S.”, possibly where a palm rest was fitted. Brl half octagon, No. 4 weight, correctly serial numbered to action. Fitted with a globe front sight with spirit level and a Stevens tang sight with Vernier style wind gauge. Also has No. 465 Stevens scope.
Condition
Considerable bright case color remains. Buttstock has majority of the original varnish remaining with minor handling and storage marks. Checkering on forearm slightly worn. Buttplate is re-nickeled. Mechanically good, bore appears very fine but needs cleaning. Optics are good but need cleaning. C&R.
